The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price or MSRP is also known as the “sticker price.” Although this price is “suggested” by the manufacturer, it doesn’t necessarily mean a dealer will sell a certain vehicle at the MSRP. The dealer can sell a car at a price that is higher or even lower than the MSRP. A savvy car buyer should look up the invoice prices for cars that interest him to see how much of a gap there is between what dealers pay to buy their cars and what they sell them for.
